My Name is Kacee... and I am a Britney-holic

Yes... I am 27 years old and I went to a Britney Spears concert, but OH.MY.GOSH.  It was unreal, people keep saying "but she doesn't even sing live."  Well, HELL NO she doesn't sing live... who could while they were being thrown in the air and dancing their butts off.  Britney doesn't pretend to be an artist.  She's an entertainer.

I am not sure why I love her so much... usually pop music isn't really my thing, but Britney has always been on the top of the list.  When she started singing "Baby One More Time" I was immediately taken back to high school with my friends belting it out in my car.  If you get bored and want to see the amazing opening to the concert just watch this video...

It was very Cirque de Soleil with Britney in the middle of all of it... I would go see it a million more times if I could.

Next up:

FLEETWOOD MAC

Holy cow I love concert season... No, I probably won't ever blog about anything else....

I Like Drivin'

Yep that's right, my last post was on March 9th... I am very busy and important.

So this weekend I took a little trip back to Poteau to get my hair did.  Yes, I made a 6 hour round trip to sit and get my hair done for 2 hours.  Was it worth it?  You betcha.  Cheryl has been doing my hair for a very VERY long time and I'm just not ready to give her up... It's good enough that when I tell people I am going to get my hair done I get a weird look followed by "that isn't your natural color?"  To which I ALWAYS lie and say "well OF COURSE it is..." but it's definitely not.  According to Dad (who I'm sure was a poet in his former life... someday I'll do a whole post of Frank-isms): "Driving to Poteau to get your hair done?  That's the most practical thing I've heard all day."  Kacee's response?  Well if I had a mullet as cool as yours I wouldn't worry about it either....

While I was home I got to eat at my fave Mexican restaurant ever... Maria's!  Kyle was jealous so I brought him back some (and me some more!) and we had it for dinner tonight.  You can't beat that place... the food is awesome... it's cheap... and I get to see everyone I didn't want to see while we eat.... cha.

As we were eating our Maria's tonight we were having a discussion about how all Mexican restaurants are different.  It seems to me that almost everyone's fave Mexican food is in their hometown.  Now, I do love me some Abuelo's.... but nothing will take the place of my beloved Maria's Derek Special with cheese..... mmmmmmm....

It really was a pretty eventful weekend.  I drove to Poteau to get my hair done and say hi to my family, then came back and since it was so nice outside we decided to go to The Mont for awhile.  I absolutely love when you can sit outside there... my fave.  I had a friend staying with me this weekend so we skipped church this morning and I made waffles, bacon, sausage, and eggs (well, Kyle made the eggs... eggs me no likey) and then we watched some old videos of us at CASC embarrassing ourselves.  I then made the colossal mistake of agreeing to watch The Descent.... yikes!

Well, I'm bored with this... I'll post again when I have something worth saying.... or next time I'm bored...

CD's I'm currently listening to and loving..

Still not sick of Duffy
Missy Higgins
Schuyler Fisk

**Sneeze**Cough**Ugh**

No, I'm not really all that sick, but I am a little under the weather so you need to feel bad for me... gah, some people are so inconsiderate.

Do you watch Rock of Love Bus? Well, I do and it is fabulous... this is my fave clip of the year so far....

PEOPLE WHO EAT BASIL ARE LAME!

OK, so Kyle and I continued my birthday celebration (from January 30th) last weekend by going to see Bonnie Raitt at the Riverwind Casino. Let's talk about why I loved this venue.

1. There are only 1,500 seats, so basically there isn't a bad seat in the house.
2. It's in an Indian Casino, trashy people to stare at as far as the eye can see.
3. No smoking in the concert hall... suh-weet!
4. Big cushy chairs, and since everyone there was old we sat down the whole time!

Bonnie Raitt was amazing, I wish that I could be that awesome when I'm older someday. Also, I want to play kickin' guitar solos.

On another note in my sickness I rented Beverly Hills Chihuahua... what?! Yep. Apparently in my "I'm just gonna pull stuff off the shelves" I ended up with that... and Madagascar 2. I'm not gonna lie though, Madagascar 2 was really funny. I haven't made it to Beverly Hills Chihuahua (or BHC for those of us in the know), but I will let you know as soon as I watch that piece of cinematic genius.

Last but not least http://www.theblogess.com/ is the funniest blog I've ever read, but if you don't enjoy the filthy language I suggest you run... far, far, away. Katie, you make sure to read it. The end.

My iPhone Is A Music Snob

Ok, so who all has an iPhone/iPod/iWhateverplaysmusic? All of you? Good.

Every morning when I get ready I bring the iPhone in the bathroom with me and just put it on shuffle, but here lately I have been having to actually choose my music because... my iPhone is a music snob. It plays a few different songs, but for the most part it plays songs from one CD.

It's favorite CD is...

I do love this CD, but this is more of a "woe is me" day CD. Not a "mornings suck" CD. I need something upbeat iPhone GAH! Why can't you just read my mind... stupid electronics... There are almost 800 songs it can choose from but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... James Morrison only for the phone.

I have noticed my iPod also chooses which artists it likes the most, but I totally agree with it's choice of a favorite artist...

Out of over 7,000 songs my iPod totally knows Dolly is the bee's knees. Maybe I should have the iPod teach the iPhone how to pick music...
Does anyone else's iCrap do this?

Yes, I Know I'm A Freakshow...

If you know me well you know my love for random movies. When I tell people movies I love they usually make their eyebrows do that weird "Huh?" look. I absolutely love movies that follow ridiculous plotlines, or don't have happy endings. Now, I'm not saying that I want every movie to be sad and weird, but sometimes it's like a breath of fresh air instead of boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, boy messes up love, boy fixed problem, wedding, baby, THE END. Life isnt' like that, so sometimes I want movies that are just crazy.

For example, this weekend Kyle rented a movie for me that I had been DYING to see: Repo! The Genetic Opera (which of course he refused to watch with me). This movie only came out in a few theaters, so after constantly checking around here I finally gave up the dream, I guess he remembered me whining about it so when he noticed it at the video store he grabbed it.

The basic synopsis is that in the future people's organs started to fail, so this big company came in and found a way to make organs. They also make different things for people who are addicted to plastic surgery. Anyway, if you don't continue to pay for your organs they send out the Repo Man to get the organs back. It's from the makers of Saw so you can only imagine how gory it is... but here is the best part... Are you ready? IT'S A MUSICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, that's right... a musical. It was like Moulin Rouge meets Rocky Horror meets Saw. I am now in love with this movie.
I am not saying go out and rent this movie... because I don't want you to punch me, but if you like WTF movies then go get it and we can discuss... Also, Paris Hilton does and awesome job! Also, you can watch videos of it on youtube, my favorite song was Zydrate Anatomy... Yep, you think I'm weird now... Oh well...

On a lighter note, we also watched Zack and Miri Make A Porno... so, so funny...

My FAVORITE Thing

This is gonna be long... so be warned...

OK, so I realize that I talk about a lot of things that annoy me and things that I don't like, so today I'm going to talk about my absolute favorite thing in the entire world... CONCERTS! I am so in love with live music that it is unreal, if they would let me be a stinky roadie I'd sign up in a heartbeat, but I'm too lazy to be a roadie.

I plan my summer around concerts. I have been doing this since I was 16 years-old and could drive myself. I can remember going to concerts with my parents when I was younger and thinking... "Wow... this is the coolest thing I've ever seen." Of course, when I went with them we went to see their favorite people like Tanya Tucker, Garth Brooks, and who could forget the oh-so-wonderful Billy Ray Cyrus (HOLLA to the Cyrus Virus).

The first concert I ever got to go unsupervised was Edgefest in Tulsa... I was absolutely amazed and I had a blast seeing my absolute favorite band at the time (and they are still up there today): Weezer. We also got to see a million other bands that I couldn't even begin to name... but it was fantastic.

I wanted to talk about some of the concerts I have planned for this year thus far...

March 5th - Norman

Oh.My.Gosh... Could Bonnie Raitt be any cooler?

April 2nd - Kansas City

All eyes on me in the center of the ring just like a circus! You are allowed to judge me for this, but it won't matter because I think she is fantastic.

April 12th - Tulsa
Photobucket
Death Cab for Cutie is one of my absolute faves... Their songs give me chill bumps...
May 3rd - Tulsa

This is the one I am most excited about... Fleetwood Mac. If I could even be 1/1000th as cool as Stevie Nicks I could die a happy person.
I was going to post about my favorite concert experiences and my dream concerts, but this is super long and the one person that has actually read all of it is bored, so I will post that topic next time. Peace.

Things I Like... and Things I Don't

Good Afternoon,

This morning I was discussing things I loathe with a couple of people in my office, so I thought I would share some of my annoyances with the blogging world.

One of my main annoyances is knick-knacks. I'm sorry if I am offending you with this, but it's not like I'm going to come over to your house and tear up your Beanie Babies... I just don't like them. I don't know if it is because I hate the actual knick knack or because I hate clutter in general. When I see those people on tv that they call "hoarders" I get ridiculously stressed out. I cannot imagine having a cluttered mess of collections in my house.

An example of my annoyance with collections is a certain family member who shall remain nameless... she collects Dreamsicles. Now, if you don't know all about these washed out little cherubs I consider you one of the lucky ones. Here is your example:

Isn't that the kind of thing that makes you have nightmares? I thought so.

The only other annoyance I am going to talk about today is bumper stickers (if I talked about all of my annoyances we'd be here all day). I am fine with having a few bumper stickers... especially in an election year, but sometimes when I'm behind a person with a stupid bumper sticker I have to think "do they actually think that is funny." Here are a few that make me want to punch the owner of the car in the face... and slash their tires:

Yes sir, just because I am against a war it means I love me some terrorists.

There are some bumper stickers that make me laugh, but in general they are in no way original or funny. One time I saw a bumper sticker that said (and I am not kidding):

I LIKE MY CHICKEN LIKE I LIKE MY WOMEN:
BATTERED AND FRIED
Was there also a NASCAR sticker and a Rebel Flag waving oh-so-proudly on this vehicle? Well, of course there was!
Thank you America... these are your citizens
